All were enthralled by the astounding performance of the children. The headmaster congratulated the winners of the competition and applauded the participants for showcasing their linguistic skills. All the winners and participants were awarded prizes.

The aim of the competition was to boost the confidence of the tiny tots, exhibit their talent, enhance voice modulation, articulation, expression and improve their public speaking skills. Hence the best platform of poetry was utilized as a platform to encourage language development in children due of its rich usage of words and imagery it can create.

Spelling is important as it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Keeping this in mind, an intra – class Spell Bee Activity was conducted for the students of classes I to V at Bal Bharati Public School, Solan. The aim was to make available a platform to learn spellings with correct  pronunciations and consequently enrich their vocabulary.

To conduct this activity, a word bank was created from the prescribed books of English which the learners are using in the current academic session. Learners were asked to learn the words from the given word bank for the first round. Each student was given a chance to spell two words (orally). The learners who spelled the words correctly in the first round qualified for the next round where each learner was asked to spell two more words from the prescribed books.

The objective of the activity was to enhance the spelling and literary skill of learners by encouraging them to explore the nuances of English Language, vocabulary and improve the communication comprehension skills. Learners participated earnestly in the activity. Their efforts and initiative were appreciated by one and all.
